Cicely Tyson has had an astounding career spanning her lifetime, but now she can add another accolade to her long list. The Tony and Emmy-winning actress will be honored by Turner Classic Movies with a hand and footprint ceremony in recognition of her film career. The upcoming TCM ceremony will run at the same time as the TCM Classic Film Festival in Hollywood on April 27th.
Tyson is no stranger to awards. This newest recognition comes on top of her 2015 Kennedy Center Award and 2016 Presidential Medal of Freedom for her decades-long work championing civil liberties causes. One of Tyson’s more recent roles is that of Annalise Keating’s mother in Shonda Rhimes’s acclaimed How to Get Away with Murder.
